Receiving Your Financial Aid

The first step should be to review your Statement of Account at my Tri-C space.  Once you log in, navigate to the My Info tab and then select Financial Aid Awards in the right column.

Book authorizations are automatically established on your My Tri-C Card for all students who have a finalized financial assistance award and who will have federal financial assistance in excess of tuition and fees.  Book authorization amounts are added to My Tri-C Card and can be then used to purchase books in the Bookstore.

Refunds are generated when the total payments (financial aid and student payments) are greater than the total charges (tuition, supplemental fees and other charges).  Paper refund checks take up to 14 days to be mailed after the credit is disbursed on the student's account.  Direct Deposit may be deposited and available within one week.  Checks will be mailed to the student mailing address on file with the Admissions & Records Office.  Direct deposits are available and recommended to expedite this process.  If you do not see a credit balance on your student account, there is nothing to refund at this time.  If you are waiting on a financial aid refund, see Financial Assistance Dates for the disbursement schedule.  Note that the disbursement date (when financial aid is applied to your Tri-C account), is the beginning of the 1-2 week refund process.

If your financial aid is not enough to cover your tuition charges, you are responsible for the balance.
